Djed Spence is closing in on a loan move to Rennes, according to Tom Barclay.
The 22-year-old wing-back has made just six appearances since joining Tottenham from Middlesbrough in a deal worth up to £20million last summer - and has yet to start a game.
Spence, who made his name during a successful loan spell at Nottingham Forest, will link up with Spurs teammate Joe Rodon, who is also on loan at the Ligue 1 club.
Despite interest from clubs in England, Spence has opted for Rennes in order to ensure more game time.
